Friday Final Reflection: April 21, 2017
Progress
Happy Friday everyone! We have made it through another week and the month is almost over. May means flowers, fun, and great weather. I can’t wait! This week was a good one. I have accomplished a lot this week and that’s pretty satisfying, yet it feels like it’s not enough. That’s a common feeling for me and for others I know trying to start their own business. It brings me to this week’s final reflection. Today I am going to speak about progress.
Progress is a funny thing. Sometimes you see it clear as day, others times not so much. Setting goals helps you measure your progress. I have many, many, many goals. Some are business related, others personal. Some require money others require just effort. The key for me was to write these goals down and then track them. Writing them down helps you conceptualize your goals. Create a chart to show levels that you can achieve on a monthly, weekly, daily basis. Take a big goal and turn it into many small goals. Knocking each of those out will be easier and the small victories will amount to big change.
Because I’m all about money talk I will relate it back to investing. Small progress when saving and investing your money really adds up. A lot of people get discouraged when they start off because all the long hours and “penny-pinching” aren’t making a “huge” difference. We forget that something small like $25 every week is $1300 every year. $1300 every year is $52,000 in 40 years. $52,000 compounded annually at 8% interest ends up being $363,715.35 in 40 years. $25 turns into $363,715.35?? Yes, it does! Small things add up in every aspect of life, so don’t give up and always PROGRESS!!!
See you all next week with my “Monday Morning Money Moment.” Have a great weekend friends!!
PS: Go Leafs Go, Let’s Go Raptors!!!!
