Friday Final Reflection: June 16, 2017

Planning is Important

Congratulations on making it to the end of the week friends and welcome back to my final reflection. A few things I have come across this week have shown me the importance of planning. Being in the financial planning industry will definitely show you how important a plan is. I make plans for just about everything. I plan how much money I will be making and what I will be using it for. I plan what I do for the week by the hour including meals and sleep. I plan what I want to be doing in my business for the month, year and long term. I essentially am a planning machine. I think it is important for one main reason, it allows for deviance. People always seem to think to have a plan is too rigid. I disagree. I think having the plan is what allows for changes to be made all confined within a direct path. Here are some tips to making a plan and most important sticking to it.

1) Make a plan for what tomorrow is going to be for you. Don’t focus on the past. See where you are and where you want to be and plan accordingly.

2) Make the plan about an outcome and not a time frame, focusing on the time frame diminishes the work throughout if it is not reached in time. The goal is the goal, the timeline is life. Focus on the goal and use the timeline to achieve it.

3) Know yourself and be realistic, no point in setting yourself up for failure and discouragement.

4) Know what in your plan a consolidation, a tweak and a re-think.

5) Have the confidence in your plan to design it with flexibility and clarity. Also, have the wisdom to know when to prioritize each.

6) Follow through on each step and analyze results. It makes it easier to move on the next step.

7) Despite being realistic you also have to be bold. Accomplishing something with ease isn’t that much of an accomplishment. Challenge yourself and push yourself.

You will get to a point where making plans can be fun and exciting. Accomplishing goals is always fun and rewarding to me. My main focus is on financial but plans should be used for everything. Work hard, Plan hard, then play hard. Earn that vacation!

Thanks for reading my final reflection on the week and don’t forget to tune in today for my live to air recap on the week from Innovation Works in Downtown London. Have a great weekend friends! Take care of yourselves, and each other.
